While most Michigan fans would like to forget about the ending of their team’s last minute 27-23 loss against rivals Michigan State on Oct. 17, one Spartans fan is doing everything he can to make sure you remember.
Yes, what you’re looking as is nearly two dozen stuffed chipmunks reenacting Jalen Watts-Jackson’s 38-yard fumble return for a touchdown. The scene comes courtesy of Lansing, Mich., taxidermist Nick Saade who seems to have remembered everything but the jerseys.
While this might be the most famous college football moment Saade’s created, it’s not his first. Earlier this year, he portrayed a scene composed of 26 chipmunks depicting a Spartans quarterback throwing a touchdown over the Wolverines.
The scene didn’t come from any particular game, but only Saade’s mind. Ironically, it was sold to a 1965 University of Michigan graduate for $1,500.
“I see something that I like. I see something that interests me and fascinates me, I’ll go for it,” buyer Roger Mayerson told the Detroit Free Press in August. “I think it’s going to be quite a conversation piece.”
It’ll be up to his alumni friends to change the topic.
