IN HONOR OF THROWBACK THURSDAY . . .

OUR SUPER BOWL
RETROSPECTIVE CONTINUES WITH THE ORANGE CRUSH VS DOOMSDAY

The QB Match-up.
Roger the Dodger vs Craig Morton, an ex-Cowboy.  I watched this Super Bowl at my Aunt Shirley's house in Lansing.

Ticket refers to the
"AFC-NFC World Championship Game."
This was the first Super Bowl of many in the Louisiana Superdome.

Program refers to "AFC versus NFC for the NFL Championship
and the Vince Lombardi Trophy although graphics are now identical. This trend of the slightly different reference between the ticket (World Championship) and the program (NFL Championship) continues to the present day.

Broncos Super Bowl Pennant
I cried when the Broncos beat the defending Super Bowl Champs the Oakland Raiders (my childhood team) in the AFC Championship Game.  Note the game was held on January 15.  It's now held in early February.

Lyle Alzado,
leader of the Orange Crush Defense.

My man Golden Richards made a helluva TD catch.

Harvey Martin's Bling.
