Northern Michigan Football Makes Leadership Change

Northern Michigan Football Makes Leadership Change
MARQUETTE, Mich. — Director of Athletics Forrest Karr announced a leadership change in the Northern Michigan football program Monday afternoon.

Head coach Chris Ostrowsky's contract will not be renewed. Run game coordinator Rob Boss and pass game coordinator Marcus Knight will serve as co-interim head coaches while a national search is conducted for Ostrowsky's replacement.

"After evaluating where the program currently stands, we felt that a change was necessary," Karr said in a statement. "I told Chris that I have tremendous respect for him and his accomplishments. He worked tirelessly at his job and was a great representative for Northern Michigan during his seven years here, which made this decision very difficult."

Ostrowsky was named the Wildcats' 21st head coach on Nov. 30, 2011. Before he was appointed head coach, he served two seasons as Northern Michigan's offensive coordinator.
The national search will begin immediately.
