Minnesota's ailing head coach Jerry Kill once coached at this week's opponent -- Saginasty Valley State? 

Kill has enjoyed success with every coaching stop, including his five-year stint at SVSU. Kill coached the Cardinals from 1994-98, going 38-14 in the process.

He has later coached at Emporia State and Southern Illinois before taking over at Northern Illinois in 2008.

Kill earned two national Coach of the Year honors, earning accolades in 2004 and 2007 while at Southern Illinois.
