The Packers' 2013 schedule will come out on Thursday when the NFL releases its full slate of games.
Teams, including the Green Bay Packers, already know their opponents for the 2013 season, thanks to the rotation system and division finish formula in place, but they’ll learn when the games will be played on Thursday night. The NFL Network does a schedule show each year, and this year’s had been tentatively scheduled for Tuesday before being pushed back.
Last year, the schedule was released on the Tuesday before the NFL Draft. This year’s NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 25.
The Packers are scheduled to play their usual home-and-home series with their NFC North division rivals – the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions – along with 10 non-division games.
At home, the Packers will play host to the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns.
On the road, the Packers will travel to face the Super Bowl-champion Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.
Last year, the Packers finished with five NFC North games in the final seven weeks of the season.
“I don’t really get too caught up in who we play and where we play them. I focus more on how many days there are between games, the time of games,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy explained in quotes distributed by the Packers’ public relations department when last year’s schedule was announced. “That’s really my focus from a scheduling standpoint. We have known since the season ended who we are going to play. Who, what time, how much time we have to prepare is really the key.
