special message to NMU Football Alums of the Buck Nystrom eras from Dan

THE
SITUATION
· As you’ve heard by now legendary NMU Coach
Buck Nystrom is facing his toughest opponent – cancer.
·
There
will be an NMU-supported “Hands on the Line for Coach Buck” event honoring him
on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Marquette on
Homecoming Weekend. The cost is $15.00 for all food and drink, etc., with
more details to follow. With a group of
fellow Wildcat football alums, we have committed to putting together a video
tribute for Coach Buck and we need your help!
THE
GOAL
· Coach Buck is in the Fourth Quarter.
It’s time to put our hand on the line for Coach Buck and tell him what he means
to us while he’s still here! Let’s
make his event a success and give his family and the Wildcat family a lasting
testament to the legendary coach who made us all better men.
THE
GAMEPLAN
1. Have someone videotape you on your Iphone
or Droid phone, etc, (old guys have your kids or grandkids do it) phone
in two (2) different personal messages for Coach Buck. See script below.
2. E-mail your videotaped messages to David
Gregory by no later than 5 pm on Friday, September 6 at dgthelobbyist@gmail.com or dgregory@kelley-cawthorne.com with “Coach
Buck Video Project” in the subject line.
3. If you have good pictures in pdf format of
Coach Buck and/or yourself in playing days, please e-mail those as well.
THE
SCRIPT FOR YOUR VIDEOS
1. Part 1: BUCKISMS or BUCK’S GREATEST
HITS
a. Would love to get some with everyone saying
some of the Greatest Buckisms and then some with people doing their own
specific versions.
b. Examples -- we want multiple versions
of some of these Greatest Hits for maximum effect on video.
i. FOUR!!! (This is mandatory.
Want to end the video with a short bust of multiple people yelling “FOUR!” and
get the whole room going.)
ii. Coach me Coach. Give me a Chance.
iii. Pound Green Pound.
iv. Confront and Demand.
v. Lead Base.
vi. Load path.
vii. I don’t know a whole pile.
viii. I’m tired too.
ix. Toss 38 Saginaw for Pete.
x. You block like a sick ___ (rhymes with
bore).
xi. You can’t piss hard against the sidewalk.
xii. I’ll kiss your ass on Front Street
xiii. I’ll tell you why your back hurts; you’re
tooo fat!
xiv. They’re on a GD non-agression pact. They’re
roommates!
xv. Class? Class my ass!!
xvi. Do something you love, the money will
follow.
xvii. You won’t get this out there on the bricks.
xviii. Pound the bricks.
xix. I’ll put a Japanese disc up your ass.
c. Add your own Buckisms here . . .
2. Part 2: WHAT COACH BUCK MEANS TO ME
a. Say you name, position, years played.
b. A brief message on what Coach Buck means to
you. Keep it at 30 seconds or less so we can get the maximum number of
people in the video.
CONCLUSION
Hope to see you on September 20 whether in
person or on the video. We have class representatives who have agreed to help
us get the word out on the video and are looking for more volunteers.
